Traditional Costumes

In Bavaria and in Munich traditional costumes are of great importance. On special occasions many locals will wear the world-famous Dirndl and Lederhosen. But this was not always the case. In the 1970ies and 1980ies traditional costumes were out of fashion. Today it is difficult to imagine. People who have their standards will never go without their Dirndl and Lederhosen e. g. to the beer festival. Even though it has to be said that many dresses you will see at the Oktoberfest have nothing to do with the traditional dress. While locals will wear traditional costumes of high quality many visitors are already happy with a traditional head or a t-shirt with a lederhosen-print on it.
