Sightseeing Munich - Architecture

Munich is an old city. Therefore the architectural variety is quite extensive. One will see houses from medieval times but also very modern and futuristic buildings.

During the Second World War many buildings and entire streets were completely destroyed. But most buildings were rebuilt and today they shine in new splendour.

By the way since 2004 no building in the entire city zone is allowed to be higher than the towers of the Frauenkirche. An exception are only a few suburban multi-storey buildings that were built before 2004.
