Cafe Glockenspiel

At Marienplatz on the fifth floor opposite the old city hall you will find the Café Glockenspiel. There is a lift in a small passage that diverges from Sendlinger Straße that will take you right to the roof tops of Munich city centre.

Stadtcafé im Stadtmuseum

Close to the city museum and the synagogue at Jakobsplatz right in the city centre of Munich there is the Stadtcafé, a very popular café and bistro offering drinks, coffee and cake as well as small dish with fresh ingredients.

Cafe Luitpold

Since 1888 the “Grand Café” exists in the centre of Munich at Brienner Straße and is therefore embedded in Munich’s tradition and culture. The food is exquisite and since 2015 Café Luipold is awarded by the Guide Michelin.

In the summer you have the choice between two sun terraces but the best place even on a rainy day is the palm garden inside underneath a glass dome.

Ruffini

A coffee bar with quite a long tradition in Munich is the Ruffini. It is a café bar with a bakery and a vinotheque. Since 1979 the Ruffini has been run by 25 associates like an Italian cooperative. All dishes, cakes and the wine have an excellent reputation even outside Munich.

Café im Mueller’schen Volksbad

Inside the indoor swimming pool Müller’sches Volksbad there is the Café Stöhr, not far from the German Museum and the Gasteig with a magnificent art nouveau design. Even though the coffee bar is located right in the city centre of Munich, on a nice day you can sit outside sheltered by beautiful old trees and a wall.
