Langwieder See (Lake Langwied)
Langwieder See (Lake Langwied)
Close to the motorway A 8 towards Stuttgart there is the Langwieder See, the result of the construction of the motorway in the 1930ies. The lake is the second biggest standing waterbody in the Munich area. The lake offers several leisure facilities like a rowboat hire and miniature golf. Diving is possible, too, at Langwieder See. An old motorway restaurant has been converted into a Hotel and a restaurant with a beer garden. Close to the lake there is a camping site.
The Langwieder See is the only lake in the Munich area that can be reached by a direct bus from the S-Bahn station Lochhausen. The “Badebus” operates several times a day between the end of May and mid-September. Further information you will find on http://www.badebus.com/.
