The former hunting-lodge Blutenburg together with the chapel and the quite courtyard in the borough Obermenzing, in the west of Munich, was built during the 13th century as a moated castle. Today still surrounded by country side the quaint castle is situated on the banks of river Würm.
In the castle’s courtyard a pottery marked takes place in autumn and during the Advent season a beautiful Christmas market is held. Today the castle accommodates the international youth library of Munich.
