Nymphenburg Palace (Schloss Nymphenburg)

Nymphenburg Palace (Schloss Nymphenburg)

The former summer residence of the Bavarian royal family “Wittelsbacher” with extensive castle grounds, originally situated at the gates of Munich, was built in baroque style. It includes park areas, small castles and summer residences in the park as well as several canals. Nymphenburg Palace was built between 1664 and 1675. Fortunately the entire castle grounds were not destroyed during the Second World War.

Nymphenburg Palace is always worth a visit at any time of the year. The inside of the castle has something to offer, too, with the Stone Hall and the Gallery of Beauties in the south wing. One can relax in the extensive park and the castle restaurant “Schlosscafé im Palmenhaus”.
