Aubinger Moos

Aubinger Moos

Aubinger Moos, moorlands with meadows and little streams, is situated in the western parts of Munich. In the middle of Aubinger Moos there is an old farm “Moosschwaige” which was mentioned for the first time in 1808 or 1812. Today Moosschwaige belongs to the manor “Freiham”. The area around the fishponds in the north is a habitat and an official environmental conservation area.

In 2004 the city of Munich bought the territory around the manor “Freiham” to use it as an ecological compensation area. The manor itself doesn’t belong to the city of Munich.
