Beer & Oktoberfest Museum

The history of the beer and of the beer festival in Munich is documented in this museum. It was opened on 7 September 2005 and is situated in an old middle-class house from 1327 in the historic city centre. Inside there is a “stairway to heaven” (Himmelstreppe). The staircase is over 500 years old and has 43 steps that lead to all four levels inside the house. On the ground floor the history of the beer and the art of brewing are presented with many informations and exhibits. On the top floor you will learn about the history of the Oktoberfest.

On the ground floor there is also a small ale house called “Bierstüberl”.
